I was born and raised in Philadelphia during the Reagan Administration. As a child I enjoyed hip-hop and folk music, zoos, baseball and hockey. I have also lived in Worcester, Massachusetts and St. Petersburg in Russia. In my (relatively short) life I’ve been many things; a skateboarder, a snowboarder, a bartender, a DJ, a bass-guitarist, a saxophonist…and I’m now pursuing a Ph.D. in Political Theory! As much as I enjoy spending my days studying and bicycling around the city, I spend my nights ensconced in the Manhattan and Brooklyn nightlife, always looking for new music and cheaper drinks and reveling in the variety of New York’s scenes.
My travel experience is quite vast; I’ve been all over, but I now live in Greenpoint, Brooklyn with my girlfriend of five years, Kelly. New York City is, well, New York City: Anything you can think of is available to you at most times of the day, it all depends on what lengths you are willing to go for it. I can give you great tourist tips and advice about everything ranging from getting directions, using the subway, haggling with vendors, staying safe, finding restaurants to suit your budget, knowing what to wear, and where to find really useful local information and personal travel ideas to suit your interests. I am very much looking forward to helping you get around the city. The best part about New York is that with each Tripbod traveller, I expect to learn something new about the city myself!

Just off the corner of Vanderbilt Avenue and Park Place, Joyce Bakeshop is this Brooklynite's favorite spot to get coffee, tea, and of course, snacks. Open only since 2006, this family owned and operated spot provides....(click title to read more)
Scott was great. Not only did he recommend some cool cafes and bars, but he also came up with trumps by pointing me towards a fantastic modern ballet company. As the friend I was staying with in NYC is a huge ballet fan, I wanted to give her a surpri read more ...
