About Me

I was born in Granada and I have lived here practically all my life. I studied Translation and Interpreting at the University of Granada and at the moment I am working for an investment company, but what I would really like is to become an air traffic controller, I love the aviation world.

I love travelling, I used to travel a lot with my parents when I was a child, and whenever I get some spare time I spend it travelling and discovering new places. I have been to countires such as: Italy, Germany, France, Belgium, Morocco, UK, Portugal, the Nederlands and many other places in Spain. Besides, I lived and worked for two years in the UK while I was at Portsmouth University.

In my opinion Granada is a very attractive city to visit. It was the last city that was re-conquered by the Catholic Monarchs in 1492 and it has a distinctive Arab flavour. Granada was an important cultural centre for centuries both during the Muslim and Christian rule and nowadays it is characterised by its university atmosphere. During the academic year the population increases considerably and there are many cultural and leisure events for young people.

I have always enjoyed living in Granada. It is a city with many possibilities to offer. There are many young people, parties and friendly atmosphere. It is curious that people from Granada "Granadinos" are famous for being bad tempered, and in a way, it is true, but just at the beginning, then we all tend to be friendly and outgoing. Anyway, Granada has people from everywhere but from Granada, there are so many students coming from different destinations that it is not so easy to find someone that was actually born here. I love cosmopolitan cities and Granada, in spite of being in southern Spain, with people who have never travelled abroad, it is still quite open because in our daily lives we are in touch with people from many different cultures. I like to live and work in multicultural environments, there are so many things that you can learn...

I have lost count of how many times I have been to the Alhambra. Citizens from Granada can visit the Alhambra for free every Sunday and I love just walking around (especially in spring or autumn), sitting anywhere I want and reading a book or feeling the sun in my face and enjoying all the different colours. There are very nice views to Granada from the "Torre de la Vela", the only tower that can be visited in the Alhambra.

Granada is not an expensive city but tourists should be careful too because, as in other locations, there are still places where tourists can be taken advantage of, as they tend to lack knowledge in knowing what to expect in terms of product prices and quality over here.
