About Me
Originally hailing from Aberdeen in Scotland I moved there in 1994 to start my career in Silicon Valley. Fourteen years later, and two children born I have lived in and around San Francisco for the last 14 years. I have had a wide array of experiences from taking up triathlon, snowboarding and cycling in addition to exploring practically everything within a few days drive from San Francisco including traveling in an RV with a 1yr old to the great American parks. I work for the internet giant Google, so have very in depth knowledge on the entire Silicon Valley and surroundings (for all you techies out there!)
My favorite things to do in California are:
- swimming in the bay (great view of the Golden Gate bridge) and using the entire city as a training ground for triathlon (swim/bike/run)
- hiking in Marin county (the birth place of Mountain Biking)
- exploring all the hills on my road bike for 100's of miles
- eating in all the local dives (and the fancy places) around the area
- finding all the cool stuff to do with kids (especially outdoor pools, parks and play areas)
- I can also power shop for Scotland and know where all the best deals are to be had!
- and don't forget all the amazing photographic opportunities...thank goodness for digital cameras!
